Follow a process

"Any thing that is new is a discomfort to the mind/body"

Understand one thing about our selves, our body/mind, any thing that is not in our knowledge bank is seen as a stranger. So our mind specifically the sub-conscious mind try to avoid the new thing as it gives discomfort to our existing state. With a great motivation we start new things, let it be morning exercise or eating healthy or learning data science , for that matter any thing new !!, first two days goes fine. Third day starts the resistance. Did you observed this fact by your self?, for me it happened many times :) !!.

So we need to prepare our mind to take this new change. HOW?

Lets start with a simple process. First you need start writing a note on positive changes that the new learning bring to us. Literally WRITE on a piece of paper. Once you write that , it brings up the first connection to the mind. Next thing is visualize the new change. As an example, if your wish is to shed some fat ;) , are you obese? :) we need to first visualize, how you look like once you loose weight. Visualization is nothing but, close your eyes and imagine how you look like when you are slim. Imagine that you are running freely with slim body. Imagine you go to the mall to buy trousers 2 sizes less. 38 to 34 waists ;).  This action motivates the mind/body to readily learn new thing, in this example exercise/workout.

Then ACTION, with out this there is no point in even wasting our brain/energy to think about the new learnings/changes. First plan your schedule. How many hours in a day you want to allocate for the new change? Do you want all the days of week or only few days in a week? Accordingly set your calendar. Start with little time. Example 30 mins a day. Act on new change / learning.

Reward your self after completing the task. This must be visible. After you end the days task successfully, have a coffee, spend 30 mins on youtube on your favorite shows. These small rewards register strongly to your sub conscious mind. This start building new neural pathways, and mind/body strongly believes that you can attain the goal. Internally mind encourages to do the new thing.

Thats all????

no .......... you need to monitor the progress at regular, pre determined intervals. once a week could be a good check point, if the goal is for several weeks.  How? daily you make a note whether you have completed that days task. And weekly once you check how many days you have completed the daily tasks successfully. This intern signals mind whether the program going well or not.

Is this process pool-proof?   nooooo ............, there is always a possibility that your schedule badly effected due to self or external factors. Bring the routine to normal and do it again.
CONSISTENCY is the key. If you are not consistent, punish your self. Stop drink coffee, stop watching social media, stop grooming so that you look ugly any thing that you may feel punished your self.
So in conclusion the process is Write - Visualize - Schedule/plan - Act - Monitor - stay consistent.
Cheers !! try this process and post me a comment ;)
